DVD
from RSGB
At
the club meeting in May the members watched a DVD from the RSGB library.
On the DVD there were two DXpeditions by the Five Star Association. Members
watched the one to St Brandon Island in 2007. Unfortunately due to time
restraint member were unable to watch the second DXpedition.
CORRESPONDENCE
Part
of an e-mail from Liz Cabban GW0ETU
No problem with newsletter here. Just to update you on a few things. Firstly,
the confirmed dates for the NW Rally are 31 Oct & 01 Nov 2009. I am
in the process of doing bookings (assume, in due course CVARC will want
a table or 2) & it is encouraging that traders want to come again...except
the fudge lady!
An e-mail received from Mark Harper on the 10th May 2009
Hi all Just a quick update from the NC meeting. Meeting itself went very
well... I can also inform you all that the RSGB President, starting 2010,
will be none other than Dave Wilson, M0OBW!
A couple of ideas sprung out of the meeting
1) - I would like to arrange another TtT session, if there is enough call
for one....If you're interested, please get back to me direct, and I'll
try and get the ball rolling asap.
2) - Similar to 1 - but what about a Buildathon, or similar construction-type
event?
I'd be interested to see if theres call for this sort of thing in R6,
However, I'm open to ideas as regards the sorts of event we can plan in
R6 :)

TOPAZ
COMMUNICATIONS
(by John 'vvc')
With apologies to DARC as this article has been lifted from Llais
y Ddraig - The Dragon's Voice, the Spring 2009 edition of the Dragon ARC
newsletter
Some
members may not be aware that Topaz is moving from Llanfair PG to Llanberis.
The various costs involved in running a small business have become prohibitive
and Bob has finally decided to move. He hopes to operate from home and
will still be able to offer the same service, namely repairs and parts
as he did from Llanfair.
Remember if you need poles, co-ax, plugs etc his prices can be quite attractive,
bearing in mind that if you use one of the dealers you'll be paying postage
& packing as well - and maybe waiting 3 days or more for delivery.
Topaz new QTH will be 4 Maes Derlwyn, (opposite the Royal Victoria Hotel)
and Bob can be contacted on 07919 966101
Bob can also be contacted at: robert.davies707(at)virgin.net
We wish Bob and Topaz good luck operating from the new QTH.
( CVARC Secretary's note: This establishment has also been very helpful
to us in the disposal of Silent Key equipment that club members have not
wanted)
NEXT
MEETING
The
next meeting will be held on the Wednesday, the 3rd June 2009 at the studio.
This will be the AGM.

Minutes
of the meeting held on the 7th June 2008 will be sent to CVARC members
only, separately to this newsletter. Anyone not a member but attending

the AGM the second DXpedition on last month's RSGB DVD which was to Rodrigues
Island in 2004 will be shown.

You do NOT want to PRINT
this Document......
Do you?
(Hence wasting paper, ink, electricity, time &
effort)
Whilst this web page will
print off directly, it is recommended that, should you, for any
reason, require a hard copy..... then you print off the .pdf formatted
newsletter, which can be found HERE
(This document has been formatted to "look nicer" when
printed off, but the contents are IDENTICAL to what's on THIS page)
PLEASE
BE AWARE
1. That you will need a .pdf reader to be able to access the above
link.
2. You're NOT helping the environment by printing off either
this web page or the .pdf document to paper ..........
3. A suitable program
to read and/or print off any .pdf document can be downloaded (free
of charge) from Adobe by clicking on the link below
4. .pdf means Portable Document Format. Any file that has been saved
to .pdf format can be read on ANY computer with ANY operating system
installed thereon. Thus, this is a VERY POPULAR format to be used
both on websites and in emails- if you don't already have a pdf
reader on your pc, you should consider one now - you WILL need one
to read many on line documents
